Nuclear envelope dynamics and ribosome biogenesis

My group follows two major lines of research. We study structure, function and dynamics of the nuclear envelope with an emphasis on the mechanism of mitotic nuclear envelope breakdown. Moreover, we investigate the biogenesis of ribosomal subunits in mammalian cells. Analysis of supramolecular assemblies such as nuclear pore complexes and ribosomal subunit precursors is a unifying aspect to our research.
