Is genetic variation important for species survival? This question has been central to my research. Population genomics of endangered species, like tigers, has identified connected landscapes, isolated populations, and elucidated unique evolutionary trajectories. We seek to understand inbreeding depression, and the impact of deleterious mutations. Our work has informed ongoing conservation efforts in India.
