Our lab is interested in epigenetic reprogramming in mammalian development. We study the mechanisms of genome-wide erasure of epigenetic marks in germ cells and early embryos, particularly the erasure of DNA methylation. We are exploring the biological significance of reprogramming in imprinting, pluripotency, transgenerational epigenetic inheritance, and transposon control. We apply these biological insights to stem cells and human health.
