My group investigates the key events of meiosis, such as recombination between homologous chromosomes, mono-orientation of sister kinetochores, and the stepwise destruction of sister chromatid cohesion. Furthermore, we are interested in the mechanisms that order these events into the right sequence. To analyze meiosis, we use a combination of molecular genetics, biochemistry, and live-cell imaging in budding yeast.
