My lab develops imaging techniques with single-molecule sensitivity, molecular-scale resolution and genome-scale capacity to study problems of biomedical interest. For example, we invented a super-resolution imaging method, STochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM) and a transcriptome imaging method, multiplexed, error-robust fluorescence in situ hybridization (MERFISH). We apply these methods to investigating problems in the areas of cell biology and neurobiology.
