Signal transduction by growth factors and receptor tyrosine kinases

Yosef Yarden focuses his research on the mechanism of action of growth factors, hormone-like molecules that play critical roles in embryogenesis, but also in tumor aggressiveness and invasion into surrounding tissues. His research is helping shed light on the way growth factors and their receptors promote tumor growth and metastasis, and is assisting attempts to generate therapies that target growth factors and their receptors.
