Enduring protection from harmful microbes depends on the collaboration of multiple types of different immune cells. These cells interact with each other in lymphoid organs and exchange molecular signals required for differentiation into effectors with the capacity to eliminate invading pathogens. In our lab, we examine how interactions between cells in small immune niches promote the generation of protective antibodies and long-lasting immunity.
