Clinical translation of Sleeping Beauty

Our group focuses on the development of transposons as versatile, non-viral tools for genome engineering. Sleeping Beauty is one of the most outstanding examples for the potential of synthetic biology and represents a key enabling technology for gene transfer in vertebrate cells. We develop advanced reagents to improve both efficacy and safety of the system and clinically translate this technology for genetic medicines.
